Origin Story
In 2014, a new kind of self-care experience was born in New York City. It wasn’t about products or pampering. It was about presence and touch.
FaceLove began as a movement rooted in touch, a face-focused wellness practice designed to help people feel better, look brighter, and reconnect with themselves. The concept quickly gained media attention. Writers called it a "facial workout," a "therapeutic reset," and even a "cure for resting bitch face." But most importantly, FaceLove reminded a busy, touch-deprived world of the simple, powerful healing that comes from hands-on care.
More than a decade later, the legacy of FaceLove continues in a new form.
Today, we welcome you to the next evolution: a modern wellness sanctuary in the heart of the Financial District. Our new studio expands the philosophy behind FaceLove into a full-body, whole-self practice. It’s still about the face, and it’s also about the nervous system, the energy body, the emotional body, and the everyday stress we all carry.
Behind this evolution are two women whose paths crossed through care.
Cristina Enriquez-Bocobo first discovered FaceLove as a client. A creative strategist and designer with a background in the arts and nonprofit world, Cristina found deep resonance with the experience. As she continued to return for treatments, a friendship and shared vision began to grow. Eventually, Cristina joined the team as a partner and investor, contributing her eye for design, passion for storytelling, and commitment to inclusive, elevated wellness.
Together with Rachel Lang, the original founder and expert practitioner behind FaceLove’s signature hands-on approach, the two rebuilt and reimagined the studio from the ground up.
This is how FaceJoy was born, a next-generation wellness studio blending healing touch with artful design, heart-led service, and everyday accessibility. At FaceJoy, each treatment is a moment to soften, reset, and reconnect.
We invite you to step inside.
